How to view event information

ITD’s 511 Traveler Information website is provided to assist motorists in their decision making on Idaho roadways. Icons on the map represent incidents, planned construction, weather events, road conditions, traffic speed information, etc. that could have an impact on travel. Clicking on an icon will display the details of the event at the bottom of the web page.

After clicking on an event or report, use the mouse or keyboard to view more details and reports or nearby events.

With a mouse

  1. Click the button to bring the content detail view to the top of the page.
  2. Use your mouse wheel or the browser scrollbar to scroll down.

With a keyboard

  1. Press Page down, down arrow to expand the detail view.

View an event using the map

  1. Navigate using the map to find events or reports of interest.
  2. Click or tap the event or report icon. Optionally, hover your mouse over the event or report icon to view a short description.
  3. The map will center on the selected event or report, and the details will appear at the bottom of the screen.

Event priority levels

Each event is given a priority level from low to high which indicates its impact on traffic.

  • Low priority event! Low priority events have a minor impact on traffic and are displayed with a smaller icon.
  • High priority event! High priority events have a greater impact on traffic and are displayed with a larger icon.
  • Travel delays! Events with an orange “glow” indicate travel delays have been detected.
  • Critical Disruption! Events with a “Critical Disruption” halo indicate the highest level of priority events and contain critical information for travelers.

Minimize event details

Use the mouse or keyboard to minimize content details.

With a mouse

  1. Click the “Minimize” button to bring the content detail view to the bottom of the page.
  2. Use your mouse wheel or the browser scrollbar to scroll up.

With a keyboard

  1. Press Page up, Up arrow to expand the detail view.
